At Espoo Sirius Taekwon-Do, every child gets to shine

Step onto the path of self-awareness, mastery of body and mind, and confidence building.

Sirius Taekwon-Do is an Espoo-based martial arts club specializing in children's fitness, teaching ITF Taekwon-Do. Our club has about 130 children and young people training. Taekwon-Do as a sport is a fun and versatile exercise hobby that develops both the body and the mind. Taekwon-Do training is progressive, motivating, and safe. There are endless suitable challenges for everyone!

Our club is named after Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky as seen from Earth: the basis of our activities is that every child gets to shine and be the star of their own life!

Our operations run almost entirely by professionals, and, for example, we do not require the parents of practitioners to participate in the running of activities or volunteer work.

You can also train in English!

Try a developing and, above all, fun hobby: welcome to join!

How to start Taekwon-Do ›

What is Taekwon-Do?

Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art suitable for people of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels. Each practitioner trains from their own starting point and progresses at a pace that suits them.

In traditional sports, the goal is usually to defeat opponents. The core of Taekwon-Do, on the other hand, is facing various challenges: the greatest challenges in life often do not come in the form of opponents but are found within ourselves.

Training in this art enhances agility, strength, and endurance, but its uniqueness lies in its ability to develop inner strength and an indomitable spirit. As a hobby, Taekwon-Do offers a rewarding way to develop physical, mental, and social skills, helping a child or young person build a strong foundation for a positive self-image and a stable future.

The practitioner's belt rank, which can be increased by participating in belt examinations based on their progress, indicates the progress and skills acquired. In Taekwon-Do, one can compete if they wish, but it is not mandatory.
